The future of China
There are always people only caring themselves, but not the society and the country at all. I sometimes get confused when I hear sb say: life is only consisted of eating, drinking, palying, and having fun. I don't believe in these words, but I can feel their happiness when they are saying so, meanwhile, I find mysely get nothing but pain when I find out how ridiculous the words I was told when I was growing up. Those text books just told us that the reason why China comes to current situation is that it has to be like this, and China can't be a capitalist country. Why? because it tried this before by Sun Yat-sen in 1912, but got lost, so it's destined to a failure. But there were also many Eastern Europe countries turned into capitalism during 1989 and 1991, can this be called that they don't adapted to the socialism? So they are doomed to be capitalism forever? The goverment says no, for that such failures are just some "temporary phenomenon", the ultimate goal is still socialism, and communism. However, why can't we use the same reason to say that the failure of capitalism in China about 90 years ago is also just a "temporary phenomenon"?
The most extensive things you can find now in China are problems, there are problems everywhere, and everyone can see them, but there are few things we can do but just wait.
I don't think I can see a really democratic, free, prosperous and powerful China during my life, I hope our posterity can see.

Obama won the election, of course. According to a poll on sina.com, 80% of the Cyber Citizen in China think they will vote for that black guy if they have the right to vote. Among all these Respondents, few of them really care about the US election, and they don't know the difference between both candidates' policy. They think Obama is suitable maybe just because he looks handsom and young, and most importantly, he seems to be able to bring some changes, some people just want some change, whatever what it means, especially when the change has nothing to do with him.
As a Chinese, the most important reason I care about the United States is that I think maybe someday we can learn sth from them, and I suppose that anyone who declare himself to have a global view can't avoid America. I think that if an ET come to the earth for the first time, he want to know sth about the human being, like we want to know sth about the animous, the ET don't know anything about humans in advanced, they don't know there are sths called country, sciences, techology, culture, ets. , all they can do is by their own observation, the same as we use some instruments the know where some kind of animals live and how many of them gather together. Then where do they want to go first? They may come to Asia, of course, such as Bangladesh, Japan, India, Pilipinas, Vietnam, or maybe British and Frence, they will soon know that the whole human don't be taken as together, there are borders among countries, then, the Aliens may wonder, which country has the most population in the earth, and why? how can't we go there and find out? Then they will come to China, and as time goes through, they will know that the most powerful country is on the reverse side of the ball, thus they know US exsit.

A letter to my younger sister
Dear Jingjing:
I know that your birthday is on Dec 12th, Lunar and there is still two months before that day, however, since I received your call last week, I find it necessary to mail you a letter, and meanwhile, give you this dictionary as a present.
To tell the truth, this book is not new, I have used it for a long time, untill I bought another glossary preparing for my GRE test next June, and the vocabulary for College Entrance Examination is so limited that maybe you will find this wordbook uesful in the college. In my opinion, unless you major in English, or prepare to go abroad, or have to read some scientific papers, this dictionary is adequate. So you may be confused that since you don't seem to need such a thing now, why do I send it to you?
Last month, I bought a magazine called Southern Character Weekly, its theme is about those pepole who changed their lives greatly after the implementation of Reform and Openingup in China from 1978, the journanists asked each of the ten persons ten same questions, and one of them is: what is the greatest change do you think in your life?
Of course, all the answers are different, and that is not what I want to tell you, the thing that concerns is, when I ask myself this question, no matter how hard I try to find out other things, the answer to it is always so firmed and so simple: the College Entrance Examination, which is the most vital change in my whole life.
It seems to be plain, for many people will give out this answer, but this thing is not so pure as it looks like, you can meditate this things in deep thought after your graduation from middile school, not now. By the way, this dictionary is bought by many people in the United Stated, some spelling and the pronunciation may differ from your textbook which is based on the Great Btitain English, so don't take such differences wrong. The reason why I give you this book is if you want to learn English well, you have to concentrate yourself in this language, and focus on nothing but the language itself. If you can do this, you will find out two things naturaly, one is there is no right or wrong strictly in language, the other is this is their language, not ours.
The second one may be more important, I guess. If English is in this case, the other subjects should be the same, which means: the whole world has its own rules, it doesn't care how we human beings invent some words to difine them, how we divide the nature into physics, chemistry, biology, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, astronomy, geology, psychology etc, it constructs itself, has its own approach to survive and to die, no matter what we denominate them or to anticipate every detail by the methods we know today or through computing.
Duing to such foregoing reasons, you are to be absorbed in the subjects themselves, to understand those knowledge thoroughly, not superficialy, not vaguly, not only by those symbols, but by themselves: here are the laws, how did they get that way? Why is it like that in the beginning? What was its origin like? What were the initial conditions? And imagine that you have a friend who is always togother with you, she knows all the knowledge anyone should conquer in order to learn senior middle school lessons, that is the level of junior middle school, but she doesn't know anything about the senoir subjects, hence she need you to teach her. So now it's your turn to prove how you handle the lore which is needed to pass the College Entrance Examination, you have to tell her everything you know, logically, vividly and clearly, and she will ask you questions whenever she find it dim, take her as a hypercritical person, she won't let you calm down unless she is contended. The more severe she is, the more defect you will find in your lessons, thus the less error you will make when you go into the battlefield of College Entrance Examination. That will do good to you inevitably.
At last, I want to cite some paragragh from a book, maybe it will help:
" I think many people see commitment as an event, something that is done in a moment. They say: 'I do' in a wedding ceremony. They shake hands to close a business deal. They buy a treadmill in order to exercise. But the commitment doesn't end with that decision; it's just getting started. And you better believe that any time you make a commitment to something, it will be tested. When things go wrong, when life gets rough, when the pain becomes great, will you be able to keep going? If you determine to make and keep proper commitments daily, you greatly improve your chances of being able to carry on. As Abraham Lincoln said, 'Always bear in mind that your own resolution to success is more impormant than any other things.'"
Thus I suppose that everything has a cost. There is no real failure except not trying. You are who you are, and can't be any other else. Maybe my viewpoint is not suitable to you, and my phraseology may be wrong, don't worry, it's just for reference, doing what you want to do is OK.
Cheer for your studies and wish you a good health.
Happy birthday. Hope you well, sincerely.

Tomorrow is another day, I hope
Many people seem to believe that tomorrow will be another new day, it means no matter what you have done before, they can't be your burden again. But can they?
China is a nation which has a long history, not like the United States, the impact of tradition is deeply rooted in every person's mind. Even the most Westernized people can't invade this tradition completely, concretely speaking, if a Chinese do something violating the moral one set for himself, he will remenber that thing all through his life, no matter how hard he do to compensate his fault, and the normal Chinese people don't have the religious belief, they can't go for the god and appeal to forgiving, they don't know how to be forgiven, thus don't know how to forget those things, so they thing may be nobody can be forgiven, such notion is very powerful.
So, for many of us, it's difficult to take tomorrow as a new day, the traditon is around us.

The day of American 2th presidental debate
In the noon on October 8th, according to Beijingtime, I watched an arguement between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain on CNN, the two presidental candidates talked about the most momentous economic crisis in 80 years, and the American diploma polices, esp. for Iraq and Afghan. In my eye, the debate is not only drastic but peaceful. Although in China, such public dispute can be heard all through the country, people who have different political oppinions always gather together, esp. when dining, they talk about everything they want to talk, and no one can persuade the adversary successfully. Meanwhile, it's easy to find many normal persons who don't care about politics, they think they can do nothing to make the world change as their hope to be like. There is a traditional reason for this, in the past 2000 years, China is a feudalism society, there is only one emperor above the general public, and he owns everything in the country, the reason why the others have everything is because he give the things to them. And when the goverment became corruption and weak, the taxes on the citizens became to heavy to endure, they began to revolt, and when the war stopped, a new dynasty was established, a new emperor began to dominate the people, and the only hope those normal persons can have was the new emperor can be a merciful man, they seldom had any democrac concept, and these things happened again and again, through the whole Chinese history. I wish this circulation can end one day in the future, for China has already infuse into the world, the hope of democracy will be deeply rooted in everyone's mind, unless the tendency of globalization stop, and that will never happen.

Hello,everybody:)
This is my first time to create a blog in English, so thank you all for coming!
I am a Chinese postgraduate student, my major is solid mechanics, I love my major.
In China nowadays, when a student graduate from a university, it is hard for him or her to find a "good" job, the"good", according to the traditional view, means enough money that can buy a new house, a new car, etc. that is, whether all the things people value can be bought by money, without which, it's difficult for you to get married, for people today are too practical. Some guys who I am well-informed to, were discarded by their lovers before the right time to marriage, such things always make me depressed, how can those men or women gather enough maney to buy a house so soon after their gruduation? They are too young, and so am I.
